Stella is our hero! She is open-minded, courageous and full of energy. She is also quite smart, even if she is only a young sheep. However, did Stella really save the farm? That is not an easy question to answer.
We ask all participants on our innovation management courses to read “Stella”. They find the book amusing and entertaining, but they also recognize how the book explains how difficult it is to succeed with innovation. We always have great discussions about who really saved the farm and which role each animal played to make innovation happen.
Few people have influenced us more than Vijay Govindarajan and Chris Trimble, both from the faculty of Dartmouth College. Their book “The Other Side of Innovation” changed how we bring innovations to market and was a huge inspiration for our own tool for experimentation, which we call “Speed Loops”.
Order a copy of “How Stella Saved the Farm” and be amused and inspired. Or even better, order several copies, share them with your colleagues and start a discussion. Stella will help your organization succeed with innovation!
